Native Timber Applications

Flooring

We often have stock of matai flooring, rimu flooring, as well as black maire, totara, tawa and macrocarpa. Our common sizes are 83mm and 135mm cover across the top of board, dried to between 10-14% moisture content.

If we don't have your requirements in stock, we can usually source it within a reasonable timeframe. Matching existing flooring profiles is one of our specialties.

Decking

Totara and macrocarpa are our most popular decking options. Totara is one of New Zealand's most long-lasting, durable timbers, resistant to rot, and with a straight grain, suitable for decking. Macrocarpa is relatively low maintenance, with great strength and a light yellow-brown colour, giving a nice appearance.

We supply our decking as a mix of clear grade or tight knot grade (no black knot). All our decking is dried to between 16-20% moisture content.

Landscaping

With the largest range of railway sleepers in the Wellington region, we stock pine & creosote, jarrah, and hardwood sleepers in both long lengths and the normal 2.1 metre length. We have a mix of smooth finishes, or older sleepers with cracks for that rustic look.

We have a range of jarrah and Australian hardwood beams and poles up to 10 metres, as well as other landscaping features, such as wharf bollards with rusty chains attached.

Carving

Having supplied carvers for many years, we understand essential requirements for your projects. We have many totara slabs and posts in stock, as well as black maire and rata for taiaha, patu and tewhatewha.

In the past we have supplied large totara posts for civic carvings and maraes. We can supply and mill huge sizes that are often hard to find.

Joinery

Whether used as part of a house build, or as a statement piece of furniture, we love seeing beautiful New Zealand native timber being repurposed and featured in NZ homes.

We offer a variety of native species that can be milled to size, dried and either supplied rough sawn, or dressed.

Weatherboards

Whether you need weatherboards for a new building project, or to match the existing boards on a historic house, we can produce to order.

Totara and macrocarpa are our most commmon varieties and can be supplied with either rustic or shiplap profiles.
